The Dells of the Eau Claire River






The Dells of the Eau Claire River are about 15 miles to the east of Wausau, Wisconsin.

Last year I went there in September and took a few typical autumn-leaf-colorama pictures. I was mostly disappointed in the results, except for two photos. For those, I had pointed the camera down into the water. To my pleasant surprise, the rather dull leaf colors that year produced some amazing images when warped by the water's surface, reminiscent of certain French Impressionist paintings.


Well, at least it looks that way to me.

So this year I went back again for more...
