What a difference two weeks makes !
This year, after lawn raking chores were done, I made a day trip back to Trempealeau County to see how things had progressed since I had camped there in mid October. At that time, the oaks had not even gotten started with their color changes. But by the time I returned, many had dropped their leaves already.
The stragglers, however, were glorious...
