This was my return trip to the Porkies after a backpacking excursion a couple of weeks earlier. At that time there was really very little in the way of fall color to speak of. This time many leaves had already fallen.
There was a gaggle of Chinese students from local colleges checking out the waterfalls on the west edge of the park. I did my best to set them a bad example by ignoring the warning signs, jumping the "protective" railing, and walking out over the rocks toward the beckoning waterfalls...
One brave dude followed me, while the girls stayed back and giggled and blushed and posed for more pictures.
Yes, of course, it was worth it.
But beware of the slippery rocks and dangerous undertow !
